Description:

Key Features: a rounded head and tail, a spade like snout for burrowing and no visible eyes

Comments: Occurs in the highveld, lowveld and Lubombo regions, uncommon in the lowveld. Previously one locality listed (Broadley 1983), currently five localities recorded.

Habitats:  
Open grassland
Rocky ridges and slopes
