Trachylepis striata
(Eastern Striped Skink)
Description:
Key Features: a distinct yellow stripe that extends along the body from just in front of the eye, over the eyebrow, to the base of the tail
Comments: Occurs in the middleveld, lowveld and Lubombo regions, absent from the highveld. FitzSimons (1943) listed Mabuya striata from one locality in the southern middleveld. This material is referable to M. striata punctatissima. Currently four localities of the typical form are recorded.
