Bitis arietans arietans   (Puff Adder) (SiSwati: libululu) Venomous Description: Key Features: the wide, flat head very distinct from the neck and, down the back, a series of dark chevrons pointing to the tail Comments: Occurs throughout the country in the highveld, middleveld, lowveld and Lubombo regions. Previously seven localities listed (Broadley 1983), currently nine localities recorded as well as several additional sight records. Habitats:   Open grassland Rocky ridges and slopes Valley bushveld
