Description:

Key Features: the long broad hood presenting a black and white banded throat towards its attacker

Comments: Restricted to the highveld region this species has a limited distribution in Swaziland. One record from the western middleveld exists which represents the only previous record (Broadley 1983). Currently two localities recorded as well as two additional sight records. This species is endemic to South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland. A relict population of this species is found in eastern Zimbabwe.
