Description:
Key Features: a distinct python-like head, a uniform red to dark brown body and distinct white stripes passing through the eyes onto the side of the head
Comments: Occurs throughout the country in the highveld, middleveld, lowveld and Lubombo regions, less common in the highveld. Previously six localities listed (Broadley 1983), currently eleven localities recorded.
