(name current July 2011) POACEAE (exotic - see Alien Plants Database) Growth form: Graminoid Found within protected areas Swaziland distribution: highveld only Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*): Poa annua - Soft slender annual, usually only few cm high, spreading at base, often rooting on long prostrate stems, light green, hairless. Leaf-blades flat. Inflorescence spreading, light coloured, c 5 cm long; spikelets c 4 mm long, few-flowered; lemmas with clear margins. * Where species names have changed, these have been matched according to herbarium specimens quoted in this publication. |
