Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*): Sclerochiton harveyanus - (Mazabuka) Shrub or small tree, almost hairless. Leaves opposite, stalk c 5 mm long, shortly hairy, blade up to 5 cm long x 2,5 cm wide, blunt, shortly hairy on midrib on both surfaces. Flowers few. Calyx c 1 cm long, homy-membranous, deeply five-cleft, ribbed, two segments sometimes notched. Corolla mauve, purple or violet, c 1,5 cm long, tube cylindrical, lip c 2 cm wide, opening flat, lobes five, all about equal, short, rounded, fringed. Stamens four, anthers one-chambered, hairy. Ovary two-chambered with one or two ovules in each chamber. Fruit c 8 mm long, woody, ribbed. Seeds without water-absorbing hairs.
