     Used in Royal cattle-kraal at Incwala ceremonies & funerals.
Commiphora harveyi    (Cork Tree)  umbangandlala,  umnumbi,
     Forbidden in home
Conostomium natalense var. natalense    (Wild Pentas)  umbophe,  ungcolosi,
     Love charms & to prevent lightning.
Crassula alba    (White Stonecrop)
     Charm to make one invisible
Crassula vaginata    (White Stonecrop)
     Love charm.
Crinum bulbispermum    (Orange River Lily)  umnduze,
     Planted to protect home from evil.
Crinum macowanii    (River Lily)  lijoye,
     Protective charm.
Crotalaria lanceolata    (Twin-leaved Rattle Bush)  izaza,
     Traditional love charm.
Croton menyharthii    (Rough-leaved Croton)  mhuluka,  mwulukwa,  umkulaka,
     Roots for a good luck charm.
Croton steenkampianus    (Marsh Feverberry)  mhuluka,  mnyakeni,  mwuluka,
     Bark a good luck charm for business.
Cryptocarya woodii    (Cape Quince)  mthongwane,  umcatsane,  umncabe,  umtfomgwane,  umtfongwana,
     Magico-medicinal uses.
Cussonia natalensis    (Simple-leaved Cabbage Tree)  imphikayiboni,  msenge,  umbudzi,  umsenge,
     Used to provoke rain. Bark, fruit & roots used during inyanga & sangoma ceremonies. Bark used foir luck in law cases or war.
Cyanotis speciosa    (Doll's Powder Puff)  ingonga,  inkombo,  insonga,  udabulamafu,  umakotigoyile,
     Protective & love charm.
Cyathea dregei    (Grassland Tree Fern)  impimpiliza,  inkhomankhoma,
     Used to ward off evil spirits.
Cyrtanthus contractus    (Fire Lily)
     A protective charm.
Cyrtanthus stenanthus var. major    (Fire Lily)
     Protective charm against lightning
Dalbergia obovata    (Climbing Flatbean)  umzungulu,
     Roots provide Zulu love charm. Ancestral communication aid.
Datura stramonium *   (Common Thorn Apple)  lijowe,  lijoye,  liljowe,  umkhuna,
     Diviner's aid & asthma & headaches. Leaves smoked in Caribbean.
Dianthus mooiensis subsp. kirkii    (Frilly Dianthus)  tjanibezwe,
     Used to make the Royal Soap for the King.
Dianthus zeyheri    (African Carnation)  iningizimu,  tjanibezwe,
     Love charm. Protection from lightning and to aid divination & rainfall.
